Tips and Tools: Outdoor allergies
To avoid outdoor allergens (the substances that cause allergy symptoms):
- Minimize outdoor activity when pollen levels are the highest (in the morning between 5:00 AM and 10:00 AM).
- Keep windows closed at night and use air-conditioning.
- Don't hang sheets or clothing outdoors to dry, as pollen may collect on them.
- Avoid lawn mowing and leaf raking if possible.
- Keep car windows closed while driving.
- Keep the number of houseplants to a minimum.
